My secret
I don’t remember the date but I think it was some time in November of 1988, I was 26 years old and recently separated from my alcoholic husband. I was also having an affair with a married man named Gus. Gus and I met at a Greek banquet in northern Ontario, Canada, he was the guitar player/singer in the band and I was the bellydancer. As inappropriate as the relationship was, he made me feel loved and wanted; two things that were seriously lacking in my marriage.
I didn’t have a particularly bright future ahead of me when I ……………. I’m sorry, my story is personal and I don’t want to share it with the entire world, only those who are on a path toward self-compassion and forgiveness. If you would like to read the rest, please send me an email with the subject line “My Secret” and I will send it to you.
This is totally up to you, but If you feel the need to share your story, you are welcome to share yours with me. I will honour your privacy and value your trust in me to keep your story confidential. Forgiving ourselves and our past is an important step toward healing. To do this, we need to celebrate who we are right now and all we have accomplished. I can help you do this!
